Volvo drivers enjoy the convenience of their key fob's remote features. They can lock and unlock their vehicle, start the motor, and even find it using an app for smartphones.
Put the key fob face up on an uncluttered surface. Find the button that will let it go. Put a coin between the fob cover and the fob, then carefully pull up.
Locking the Doors
Volvo's remote keyfobs can unlock your vehicle's tailgate, doors and flap for filling up with fuel at the push of a button. They can also switch on the ignition, activate the alarm, and operate your sunroof if equipped. With these options you'll never need to look for your keys or get locked out of your car again.
You may not be aware of key fob features that are hidden. One of these is the manual lock/unlock button, which can be pressed in the event the battery on your key fob goes out.
The key fob should be held with the Volvo logo in the front to unlock or lock the manual lock. Find volvo replacement key at the edge of your key fob and gently press it. This will open the cover that protects the manual key blade. You will need a flathead screwdriver or coin to flip this cover counterclockwise so that the arrow is aligned with "open."
The Engine is Ready to Start
Modern Volvo key fobs provide a level convenience and functionality that is unrivalled by manual keys. However, just like any battery-powered electronic device, a key fob can be depleted of its charge or cease working over time. If you notice that your key fob has become less responsive when you press the lock or unlock button, it could be time to replace its battery.
You can activate this feature using the key fob if your vehicle has a dealer-installed Engine Remote Start. The vehicle will then heat or cool to the same temperature it was set to when parked, and it will run for up to 15 minutes.

With a fingernail, remove the cover on the back of the key fob. A button is located under the cover at an angle near the body's edge. Remove it by sliding it downwards and to the right. The cover will fall off and slide away to reveal the manual blade! If you're not able to locate the button, take a look around the now-revealed manual key access to find a lever or slot.
Close the Windows
One of the features that is hidden that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is the ability to lower all windows instantly by using them. This is a great feature when trying to squeeze into a cramped parking spot, or even simply when you want to get some fresh air in your cabin while driving.
To unlock your Volvo simply press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower the windows as well as the sunroof, if you have one. Then, when you're done with the car you can shut everything by pressing the lock button again for four seconds.
You can also activate the panic alarm in your car with the key fob. This will emit a loud, attention-grabbing blare that could frighten away thieves and help you get home at a safe distance after a night out. This feature is handy if you reside in a hazardous area or you want to ensure the safety of your family while away from home.
The opening of the Tailgate
Volvo has packed its key fobs with number of useful features. These are great when you're overwhelmed with groceries or helping kids pack their sports gear after a workout.
If you have the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) Then you can open it by using the key fob. You can open the liftgate by pressing the button, and then close it with the same button.
When you're in the mood to start your car, use the key fob to push the START button (and don't be concerned about your battery dying or your car not starting because it has a backup key mechanical slot as well). This is only one of many useful trick for your new Volvo.

Turning off the Alarm

Set out your key fobs as well as batteries and additional keys on a clean surface. Set the key fob with the Volvo logo facing upwards and then locate a tiny black button on the left-hand side of the fob and slide it to the right. The cover should fall off and reveal the key blade that is mechanical underneath.
The button to unlock the key fob twice quickly, and you'll be able to unlock all the doors, as well as the tailgate. By pressing the lock button for 2 seconds, you can also close the windows and sunroof in the event that they're equipped. Connect the battery and the alarm will stop.
